Huge Update! (Finally, huh?)

Hello! It's been a while! I owe everyone big updates. I hope we still have a few loyal blog watchers out there. :)

Addison is a whirlwind of activity these days. It's so fun to watch her develop & grow. Here's what she's been up to!

  • Rolling. This is Addison's number one, full-time priority these days. She still only rolls to the left, but she has learned to flip both from her back to her front and her front to her back. Which has made her surprisingly mobile! Yikes... this is a small taste, I'm sure, of what our lives will be like when she's crawling. I don't even want to think about walking yet! See the Roly Poly video below for a sample of her new trick.
  • Talking. No, of course she's not really talking! But she sure is trying. Kevin came home from work yesterday to a whole new spin on Addy Speak... spitting. It's quite the event when you can manage to engage her in a 'conversation'. Kevin had her on a roll last night, debuting her new communication skills for Mommy. See the Big Talker video below for your own private showing.
  • Feet. Addison recently found her feet - and she's fascinated! The very first thing she does when you sit/lie her down is grab her feet and grin. Between her hands and her feet, she can become completely absorbed for up to an hour at a time.
  • Sick. Addison had her first cold & ear infection a couple of weeks ago. Poor thing! However, true to form, she was an amazing sport. She wasn't fussy & she stayed on a pretty regular schedule. Eating was the pits - since she couldn't breathe very well out of her nose there were some frustrating moments for her trying to keep the bottle in her mouth long enough to get something to eat. We took her in for her four-month visit (it just happened to be at the tail end of her cold) and were surprised to find out that she also had an ear infection. Not a peep out of her or any tugs on her ears. She was on antibiotics and is feeling like a new baby. She did, however, give me her cold... last week was pretty miserable for me. Glad the babe is feeling better though! (Mom is too.)
  •  Sleep. I think I can safely say that Addison has started sleeping through the night. It's been seven nights in a row now. (Knock on wood!) She's gotten up a couple of times, but with a paci (pacifier), she goes right back to sleep. It's been really nice!
  • Wheels. Kevin's car finally died. It was unexpected, but not surprising I guess. He's had a few problems with it over the past several months. We're probably lucky it lasted as long as it did. Anyway, we looked around and landed on a used 2009 Nissan Murano. We love it! So does Addison. My Honda, where her car seat has been up until this point, is old enough that it doesn't have some of the conveniences newer cars have with regard to car seats. Addison has always been on an awkward tilt in the back seat since the Honda still uses a shoulder strap to secure the base of her seat. Newer cars (including the Nissan!) have a nice clip system so she no longer tilts. Here she is!

Here are some cutie-patootie pics of Addison... I especially love the sweatshirt & jeans in the first picture. Hand-me-downs from cousin Penelope. We're so lucky! The jeans are the first pair.

We love you Addy Bear!
