Meeting the family

It's been one week since Addison was born - we can't believe how the week flew by. We loved every minute of it, even the rough patches. Addison is such a special gift and we are fascinated by her every move, facial expression, noise, etc.

Today is Kevin's first day back to work. It was so hard for him to leave today - he adores Addison and cherishes his time with her, so this will be an adjustment. I can already picture him coming in the door after work today, looking for Addison immediately so they can have some special 'Addy & Daddy' time, as it's been dubbed. I love watching them together.

Over the last week, Addison got to meet several family members. It was fun to introduce her to everyone!

Perhaps the most special was meeting the grandparents. Addison met my parents the day she was born. They drove almost four hours to see her for one hour, then turned around and drove home. Wow - quite the drive, but worth it. (See prior post for pictures.)

Kevin's parents were in Florida when Addison was born, so had to wait a few days until they could meet their first grandchild. They drove back from Florida and, within 15 minutes of arriving home, were at our front door anxious to hold the newest member of the family. We are sad to say we don't have the arrival on video, but we recommend that next time, for safety's sake, Joann wait until the car has come to a complete stop before exiting the vehicle. :)

My sister Meghan came to visit this past weekend. She is so thrilled to be an aunt (for the second time). She couldn't wait to meet our little peanut. We snapped some cute shots of Meggie & Addy snuggling. Look at that smile!

Addison also met the O'Connors - Joann's sister, her husband and youngest daughter.

And finally, last but not least, Addy met her great grandpa. We unfortunately don't have a picture, but look forward to snapping a few shots in the future.

There are many more people to meet and we're excited for all of those firsts.
